Cookies
A cookie is a message given by a web browser (which displays your chosen webpages on your computer) to a web server (which delivers the web pages to your computer). PointCricket also uses IP (Internet Protocol) addresses to analyse trends, administer the site, track users' movements, and to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. In certain cases, the information may be scaled down to analyse specific IP addresses resulting from suspicious activity at PointCricket. All users to the Internet have an IP address, which enables networks connected to the Internet to transmit the data and messages submitted by users from one host to another and to ensure that the messages are understood. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information and therefore the information obtained by PointCricket using IP addresses does not enable individual users to be identified. However, in case of any suspicious activity, the IP address can be used to help gauge the offender. If other means are not possible, the IP address can be blocked too, therby disallowing access to all the users of PointCricket by using that particular IP address.
