On a lively, calm and breezy evening, the two teams consisting of PointCricket's members squared up against each other at the Noor Cricket Ground on 22nd March 2006. The inaugral 3-match cricket series was an extremely enjoyable event for all the members who participated with spirit and energy.

The first match was won by Lions, led by Omais. After putting up a strong total of 74 runs in 6 overs, Lions started off the bowling strongly too. Some late aggression from Bulls' Ziyad (21 runs off 9 balls) saw them closing on the target. In the end, it was a sensational finish that saw Lions come out on top off the last ball of the match, winning by a mere three runs.

In the second encounter, Lions yet again put up a good performance with the bat, this time stroking 75 runs in 8 overs. However, their bowling got off to a poor start, only to recover with some exceptional bowling later on by Saad and Sadiq. Despite that, controlled aggression from the Bulls' batsmen saw them home with two balls to spare.

The stage was set for the all important final then. Lions once again won the toss and batted first. This time though, controlled bowling from Bulls restricted Lions to only 46 runs. In reply, Bulls eased to victory with nine balls to spare and thereby clinching the series 2-1. Ziyad Abid topped both the batting (47 runs) and bowling (6 wickets) performances to be named Man-of-the-Series.

PointCricket is extremely thankful to all the members who participated in the event and made this inaugral series a huge success. We hope that with this response, we shall be able to bring furthermore interesting events for more of our members in the future.
