Frequently Asked Questions [FAQs]

What is PointCricket?
PointCricket's main feature is the fantasy cricket game. You have to select a team of 11 players from the whole list of players who are expected to play in next week's matches. As your player performs, you earn points for his performance.

Besides the game, PointCricket also offers many features such as LIVE Scores, Columns, Forums, Audio and Videos

Is there any charge for registering at PointCricket?
No. The registration at PointCricket is absolutely free. Click here to register

How do I make my team for the upcoming week?
After logging-in, click on "Team Manager". Then click on Create Team. You will be shown a list of available players. Select 11 players and submit team.

Can I select any of the available players in my team?
Yes. You can select any player(s) of your choice as long as your team fits in your maximum budget.

What do you mean by "budget" and what do these values assigned to players represent?
Budget refers to the maximum allowance of value points you have to select your team. Your basic weekly budget is 130.

Values assigned to the players represent the capacity of the player to earn points. Each player is valued out of 15. A higher value means that the player is expected to score more points as he may be more consistent or a high performing player.

I saved some of my budget's value points. What do I do with them?
Don't worry. Any budget value that you save for a certain week will be transferred to your next week's budget. For example, if you make your team in a budget of 125, you save 5 budget value. Next week you will be provided with 135 budget value instead of the regular 130. This is very crucial specially when tougher teams are playing in the upcoming weeks.

After selecting my team, I noticed two boxes at the bottom - one was labelled "Check Budget" and the other one "Submit Team". What are these for?
If you would like to calculate your total budget value without submitting your team, select Check Budget. This will show your team's players alongwith the total value. Remember the team has not been submitted yet. If you would like to make changes to your side, just go back.
To actually submit your team, select Submit Team. This will submit your team for that week. The use of these two boxes is helpful specially if you are looking to save some budget value for the upcoming week(s).

What are these deadlines for?
The deadlines are set for you to make your team before they expire. Usually, deadlines end 3-5 hours before the start of that week's first match.

I submitted my team. Can I change it?
You can change you team by clicking on Team Manager and then on Edit/Delete Team. Remember that clicking on this button will delete your current team for the week and you will be required to make a new team. Again, all this can be done before the deadline expires.

A player from my team is injured. What do I do now?
We make every effort to eliminate injured/unavailable players from the selection list. However, if your team still has a player who is injured or will miss the match for some other reason, we're sorry to let you know that there are no replacements possible for this and the player remains in your team with no points.

How do my players earn points?
PointCricket Scoring System works as follows:
1 run - 1 point
1 wicket - 25 points
1 catch/run-out - 8 points
1 catch/run-out/stump by a wicket-keeper - 12 points

For Twenty20 matches, all the above points are doubled - for example each run gets 2 points and each wicket 50 points.

How do I know how many points has my team scored for a certain week?
To track your team score, click on Team Tracker and select the week for which you want to see your performance.

What is the difference between Users Ranking and Team Tracker?
Team Tracker enables you to view your team's performance on a weekly basis.
Users Ranking shows the cumulative performance of all the members over the season, covering all the weeks thus far.

What does APPW mean?
APPW stands for Average Points Per Week. It shows the average points per week scored over the season. APPW determines the Users Ranking.
